View Service Details

Details about a Service is available on the Service Details window, which includes Service information and a charge summary, as well as detail tabs that include specific information.

The Service Details window can also be accessed from an Order Details window (refer to View Order and Order Item Details).

For recurring services with a one-time charge, the amount of recurring and one-time charges are displayed in separate fields: Recurring Charges and One-Time Charge Total. Refer to Product Prices on the API 2.0 Help site link to an external web site.

If you know the Service number, click Services in the left pane. Use the Search field to find and select a Service. Skip to this step. Refer to Search Feature for more information about using the Search feature.

  1. Select Customer Billing from the Gotransverse application menu Module menu icon.

    You may see a Customers and an Accounts tab or just the Accounts window, depending on the value for the Allow Multi-Customer Accounts Billing system setting. The Allow Multi-Customer Accounts system setting must be set to True to see both tabs. If this system setting is set to False, you will only see the Accounts window while in the Customers module. Refer to System Settings for more information about configuring system settings.

  2. Select a customer from the list or search for a customer from the Search field to open the Customer Summary window.

    To quickly access a customer or billing account, click thequick search icon icon on the title bar (on either the Customers or Accounts window) and enter part of the customer or billing account name. If you do not see the Accounts tab, you can still search for a billing account from the Customers window by entering part of the number in the Search field. You can also bookmark regularly-used pages. Refer to Search Feature for more information.

    Click the collapse icon icon in the left pane to hide it. Click the icon to open it.

    You can manage which columns display in any table with a Configure or Columns button by clicking the button and selecting desired columns. In addition. If the table includes a Filter button, you can filter the table contents. If the table includes an Export button, you can export visible table contents (up to 50) to a CSV (comma-separated values) file. Refer to Data Tables for more information about using these features.

  3. On the Customer Summary window, select an account under the Accounts detail tab to open the Account Details window.

  4. On the Account Details window, click the Services tab.

    NOTE: If you use the Avalara Communications Tax processor, the Recurring Services and One-Time Services tables will include a Tax Mode column showing how the service was configured for tax: Tax Exclusive, Tax Inclusive, or No Tax.

  5. On the Services window, select a Service to open the Service Details window.

    If you use the Avalara Communications Tax processor, the Service Price Summary will also include either a Recurring Tax Mode or both a Recurring Tax Mode field and a One-Time Tax Mode field with either Tax Inclusive or Tax Exclusive, depending on the product configuration.

The Service Details window includes the Service Information and Service Charge Summary sections and the following detail tabs:

  • Suspended Intervals — Lists any intervals when the service was suspended. To view more details about the suspension, select a line item to open a Suspended Interval Details window.

  • Service Periods — Shows the time period for which charges for a service occur and are then billed to a billing account.

  • Discounts — Lists any discounts applied to a service.

    Click the more info icon icon to view details.

  • Scheduled Charges — Displays the amount due and due date for charges on the service. Scheduled charges must equal the total amount of the service.

  • Service Resources — Shows the identifiers associated with the service. These Service Resources are used to capture usage events so that the billing account can be billed accordingly. A Service can have more than one Service Resource. Service Resource categories are created in the Resources application. Refer to Service Resource Categories Module for more information.

  • Service or Product Usage Rules — Lists the usage rules associated with the recurring service. If the Rule Override property on the related product is enabled, the detail tab is Service Usage Rules, and you can add, edit, change the priority, or remove associated usage rules (refer to Create Usage Rule on Recurring Service, Edit Usage Rule on Service, and Delete Usage Rule on Service). However, if the Rule Override property on the related product is disabled, the detail tab is Product Usage Rules and displays usage rules added to the related product; these usage rules can only be viewed.

  • Add-On — Lists any associated products that were sold in conjunction with the original service. Select an Add-On to open its Service Details window.

  • History — Lists all changes on the selected service, including changes made to custom fields.

  • Agreement History — Lists all changes associated with the agreement on the selected service. Agreements are created in the Products application’s Agreements Module module and added to a product in either the Products or Product Catalog application.
