Product Catalog

Designed to be flexible, the Product Catalog application allows for multiple product and service configurations that help you meet business objectives and manage your customer's ever-changing buying behavior.

Products represent physical or virtual goods or services that are offered for sale to customers. Products have their own recurrence period and can be sold as subscriptions, add-ons, or one-time services.

The Product Catalog application enables you to create new products, edit and manage your products, create promotional discounts, define agreements, and define relationships and dependencies that determine what is sold.

To be sold, a product must have an introduction date, a price, and a status of Active. You can save a new product in Draft status if you are not ready to make it available for sale.

After you set an initial price, you can add additional prices for a product. You can also link associated products to establish relationships that determine how products are sold. Refer to Product Relationships for more information about managing these relationships.

Products can also be associated with an agreement, which contain the terms through which you offer products and services to your customers. Refer to Product Relationships for more information about linking agreements.

Products can also be created and managed in the Products application. Also refer to Before Creating a Product for information you may need before creating a new product.

You can also create products in the Products application or in API 2.0 link to an external website.

You can complete the following tasks in Product Catalog:

  • Define tiered and tapered pricing models that include multiple currencies, pre- and post-paid products, additional fees and taxes, quantity based products, usage charge rules, and allowances.

  • Offer cross service and account discounts that are percentage based or flat amount.

  • Associate related products together for bundling or cross-sell through parent, child, recommended, and incompatible product relationships.

  • Create price lists for various distribution channels and market segments.

  • Define custom fields such as license keys or third-party service contract numbers.

  • Synchronize product details across CRM. For many of Gotransverse customers, Gotransverse is the Product Catalog of record. You also have the flexibility to use another system for the product catalog that interacts with Gotransverse via open API.
