Design Notification Templates

After you have created a Payment Plan, you can design notification templates that serve as a way to deliver messages to customers regarding their payments or the status of their Payment Plan. After notifications are created, you can enable them to begin sending notifications when an activity on the account is triggered, such as an upcoming scheduled payment due date.

Notification templates for a Payment Plan are designed in the Setup application’s Notification Management Module. The Notification Management window includes templates for Payment Plan and Scheduled Payment notifications. You can create templates and enable notifications from this window. Refer toNotification Templates for more information.

The notification templates you design are used for the following Payment Plan notifications:

You must design notification templates before you can set notifications to trigger.

  • Scheduled Payment Notification — Notifies a customer of upcoming or overdue scheduled payments in their Payment Plan. Use the Scheduled Payment notification template for this notification. This notification is triggered for Payment Plans that are in Active status. Once created, the new notification is listed under Scheduled Payment Templates on the Scheduled Payment Templates window.

  • Payment Plan Status Change Notification — Notifies a customer of the creation, completion, or cancellation of a Payment Plan. Use the Payment Plan notification template for this notification. This notification is triggered for Payment Plans that are in Draft, Active, Completed, or Canceled status. Once created, the new notification is listed under Payment Plan Templates on the Payment Plan Templates window.

If you decide to create and version templates, you will enable Payment Plan notifications to trigger.

After you create the templates, you can enable them. Refer to Change Status of a Notification Action for more information.
