Add Phone Number

You can add four phone numbers to a customer account: Office, Home, Mobile, or Fax. You can only add one number for each of the four types.

If your tenant is not configured with the Allow Multi-Customer Accounts system setting set to True, the Addresses, Phone Numbers, and Emails detail tabs are included on the Account Details window. Refer to Add Address on Account Details Window for more information on how to add an address for a customer if this system setting is set to True.

Complete the following steps to add a phone number to a customer account:

  1. Select Customer Billing from the Gotransverse application menu Module menu icon.

    You may see a Customers and an Accounts tab or just the Accounts window, depending on the value for the Allow Multi-Customer Accounts Billing system setting. The Allow Multi-Customer Accounts system setting must be set to True to see both tabs. If this system setting is set to False, you will only see the Accounts window while in the Customers module. Refer to System Settings for more information about configuring system settings.

  2. Select a customer from the list or search for a customer from the Search field to open the Customer Summary window.

    To quickly access a customer or billing account, click thequick search icon icon on the title bar (on either the Customers or Accounts window) and enter part of the customer or billing account name. If you do not see the Accounts tab, you can still search for a billing account from the Customers window by entering part of the number in the Search field. You can also bookmark regularly-used pages. Refer to Search Feature for more information.

    Click the collapse icon icon in the left pane to hide it. Click the icon to open it.

    You can manage which columns display in any table with a Configure or Columns button by clicking the button and selecting desired columns. In addition. If the table includes a Filter button, you can filter the table contents. If the table includes an Export button, you can export visible table contents (up to 50) to a CSV (comma-separated values) file. Refer to Data Tables for more information about using these features.

  3. On the Customer Summary window, click the Phone Numbers detail tab.

  4. Click the Create button to open the Create Phone Number window.

  5. On the Create Phone Number window, complete the required and relevant information.

    Required fields are marked with an asterisk.

    • Type*: Select a phone number type from the drop-down. If no phone numbers have been created, you can select from Office, Home, Mobile, or Fax. Once a type of phone number is created, the type is not available for selection from the drop-down list. For example, if you already created a home phone number, Home will not display in the drop-down list.

    • Country Code: Enter a country code or use the up and down arrows to fill the field.

    • Area Code: Enter the country from the drop-down-list or enter the first couple of letters of the country to display related names in the drop-down list.

    • Number*: Enter the phone number. Do not use dashes. For example, if the phone number is 567-8900, enter 5678900.

    • Extension: Enter the extension, if available.

  6. Click Create Phone Number OR click the Create Another checkbox to save this phone number and open a new Create Phone Number window.

    If the phone number you are created is the fourth phone number type, and the other three types have already been created, the Create Another checkbox will not display in the Create Phone Number window. Only one phone number can be created for each type.

Phone numbers display under the Phone Numbers detail tab. You can Edit Phone Number or Delete Phone Number, if needed.
