Create Notifications and Actions for Dunning

After dunning plans and tiers are configured, you will need to set up an email notification template for each tier in your dunning plan. The templates will be used when sending notices to customers.

Notification templates are designed in the Setup application. Refer to Notification Templates for more information.

You will also need to configure the Action Framework to work with your dunning plan. Refer to Action Framework Integration with Dunning for more information.

You can also use the extended dunning notifications in the Action Framework to revert or change billing account-level actions taken as a part of the dunning process.

You can define what actions take place when transitioning from one dunning plan tier to another and what notifications customers receive by setting up HTTP and email operations. These actions are defined in the Rating and Billing application:

  • Add or Edit Email Operations for Billing Actions to take additional action when transitioning from one dunning plan tier to another. For example, when the customer’s billing account is no longer delinquent (past due), you can set up the HTTP operation to change the dunning actions, such as:

    • Service changes: suspending or changing service levels.

    • Sending the billing account to a third-party collections agency.

    • Sending the billing account status to a credit agency.

  • Add or Edit HTTP Request Operations for Billing Actions to inform customers about the additional action taken when transitioning from one dunning plan tier to another. Email operations use pre-defined notification templates that are sent to your customers after being triggered by the corresponding action.
