Price Groups

Price groups organize groups of products with related volume pricing for quantity or usage. You can use price groups to implement a cross-service volume pricing strategy across multiple services, rather than have tiered or tapered pricing apply to only one service at a time.

Price groups are first associated with products. Then, when those products are ordered, the price group becomes associated with the new service. During the bill cycle, services associated with the same price group are sorted by service start date and evaluated together when determining the appropriate price range within a tiered or tapered price.

You can associate the same price group to different products, which means that services with different products can be evaluated together as long as they share the same price group. There is no need for each service to have the same price ranges defined. The cross-service volume pricing strategy determines the position of each service’s quantity or usage relative to all services in the group and applies it to the individual services' price ranges.

Products are created and managed in both the Product Catalog and Products applications.
