Exemption Management Module
You can create and manage Tax Exemption Groups in the Exemption Management module.
Tax exemptions are only supported by Avalara Communications Tax tax processor. You must have Avalara Communications Tax configured on your tenant to use this feature. Refer to Tax Processors in the Admin section of this user guide.
Tax Exemption Groups allow you to specify the tax exemption details for a billing account. When assigned to a billing account, the Tax Exemption Group ensures that the billing account is exempted from either state, local, or federal taxes.
After you create a group and add tax exemption details to it, you can assign it to a billing account to define a customer’s tax exemption status and ensure that it is exempted from the desired taxes. Refer to Account Tax Exemptions.
