Charge Categories Module

Charge Categories module allows you to manage charge categories, including the following types:

  • Price

  • Usage

  • Tax

  • Additional Fee

  • Payment

  • Adjustment

  • Discount Charge

  • Manual Invoice Charge

  • Adhoc

  • Suspension Charge

  • Resume Charge

Charge categories enable you to categorize activity and transactions in Gotransverse. These can be used for reporting purposes only, but they can also enable complex Revenue Management posting rules.

Many charge categories are available to allow granular categorizing options for Gotransverse activity.

  • A physical product can use a different set of charge categories than a service product.

  • Charges for usage can use a different set of charge categories than the taxes applied to the billing account based on those usage charges.

Every price requires a charge category. Gotransverse provides you with a default Price Category named Default. You can add your own Price Categories and Usage Categories, but Gotransverse does not require more charge categories. If you are using a tax processor, you do need to add at least one Tax Charge Category (refer to Tax Processors for more information).
