Usage rule templates

The properties of a usage rule will change based on its particular specification; however, the template below can still be used as a general guideline. This example covers a common structure for Match-all and Formula usage rules.

Formula usage rule

You will need Formula type usage rules if you want the usage record to contain information to guide rating processes.

Formula usage rule can be of the following types:

  • EQUALS: usage rate is applied only if the usage equals the specified amount.
  • NOT_EQUALS: usage rate is applied only if the usage does NOT equal the specified amount.
  • GREATER_THAN: usage rate is applied only if the usage exceeds the specified amount.
  • GREATER_THAN_EQUALS: usage rate is applied only if the usage exceeds or equals the specified amount.
  • LESS_THAN: usage rate is applied only if the usage is less than the specified amount.
  • LESS_THAN_EQUALS: usage rate is applied only if the usage is less than or equals the specified amount.
  • LOOKUP: usage rate from the specified usage lookup table entry is applied.

Here is a sample payload for adding a Formula usage rule with the LOOKUP operator.
