Marketplaces Module

The Marketplaces module of the he Products application manages the marketplaces and price lists.

Marketplaces and price lists enable you to control the products available to users and set up distribution channels. A Marketplace, when associated with a user, determines which products the user can sell and at which price.

For instance, you could assign one marketplace to a distributor on the west coast and another marketplace to a distributor on the east coast, thereby allowing customized pricing by region.

A price list is a collection of products that can be assigned to a marketplace to create a distribution channel. For a user assigned to a marketplace, only the associated price lists are available. A user can be associated with more than one marketplace, and a marketplace can have more than one price list.

Gotransverse provides you with a default marketplace and price list that you can customize.

Marketplaces and prices lists can also be viewed in the Product Catalog application’s Marketplaces module. You can also create prices lists in this module. Refer to Marketplaces Module in the Product Catalog section of this user guide for more information.

Features of marketplaces and price lists include:

  • A marketplace may be assigned to one or more users.

  • A price list may be assigned to one or more marketplaces.

  • One or more products may be associated with a price list.

  • Prices created in one price list are independent of prices added in another prices list. In other words, you can add only one USD monthly recurrence for a product in price list A, and you can also add only one in price list B. So a product may have more than one USD monthly recurrence, but they have to be in different marketplaces.
