Categories Module

The Categories module of the Products application manages product categories.

Product categories enable you to provide higher level and more cost-effective customer service by grouping your products into different categories. When you group products, you can create reports on those categories for a detailed view of product sales and customer usage. Additionally, product categories are useful for creating rules. You can use product categories to charge fees and apply credits to the billing accounts with fee rules. You also can use product categories to create posting rules across a group of products for your general ledger. A product category can have a picture associated with it, which can be displayed on invoices. Pictures are added on the Category Details window.
