IP Address Ranges

Gotransverse enables you to restrict access to the Gotransverse platform applications and API by an IP address range. Using this feature is optional. However if you enter any IP address or IP address range, then Gotransverse only allows that IP address or IP address range to access Gotransverse. The valid range is a whitelist, and only requests from the defined IP address range are allowed and authorized. Authentication request from other IP addresses outside this range will be denied.

TIP: Before starting this procedure, have a second device that can access the Internet from your same IP address. You can use this second device to test the results. Stay logged in to Gotransverse on your first Internet-accessible device. After you set your own IP address:

  • If you can log in successfully on your second Internet-accessible device, then this procedure is complete. Proceed and add other IP addresses or IP address ranges.

  • If you cannot log in on your second Internet-accessible device, verify the IP address and click Edit to correct it if needed. Then if you still cannot log in on your second device, click Delete to delete all IP address ranges. Do not leave any IP addresses if your second device cannot log in.

You will need to know the IP address you are currently using.

Complete the following steps to set the IP Address Range:

  1. Select Admin from the application menu , then click Company in the left pane.

  2. Locate the IP Address Ranges section.

  3. Click the Add button to open the Add IP Address Range window.

  4. Enter your own IP Address. If you have a range, then enter the range, otherwise, enter your own IP Address in both the Start IP Address and in the End IP Address fields.

  5. Add any other IP address or IP address ranges.

  6. Click Finish. The IP address displays in the IP Address Ranges section.
